Bordeaux vs Le Mans Preview
Bordeaux will go top of Ligue 1 - for 24 hours at least - with a victory over Le Mans at the Stade Chaban-Delmas Saturday.
Les Girondins are level on 71 points with Marseille with three rounds of fixtures remaining, but are below their rivals on goal difference.
OM play third-placed Lyon on Sunday evening, so Bordeaux have a great chance to pile the pressure on the Mediterranean side.
"In my football career, I have never known a period like this. We are living a dream and I hope we are going to make it come true," said Bordeaux defender Souleymane Diawara.
Les Girondins are this weekend looking to claim their ninth league win on the spin.
They will be heavy favourites to do so against a Le Mans team who are still not safe from relegation. Their 1-0 defeat at home to Paris St Germain on Wednesday leaves them just four points above the drop zone.
Arnaud Cormier was earlier this week named as coach of Les Manceaux until the end of the season, allowing Daniel Jeandupeux to concentrate on other matters such as recruitment for next season.
Cormier has no intention of changing things too much, saying: "It's difficult not to carry on the outlook which Jeandupeux was worked hard at for the past two months.
"To change everything in such a short time would be a big error."
Le Mans welcome back Geder from suspension and Paulo Andre should recover from a minor knock.
Bordeaux coach Laurent Blanc has no new injury worries, but goalkeeper Ulrich Rame has failed to recover from an adductor injury in time and is again ruled out.
