St Etienne vs Toulouse Preview
St Etienne coach Alain Perrin is desperate to see his side build on their midweek victory at Le Havre when they take on Toulouse.
Les Verts climbed out of the drop zone thanks to a 4-2 win on Wednesday, and they are now two points clear of third-bottom Caen.
Another three points this weekend may well be enough to preserve ASSE's top-flight status but Perrin is not letting up.
"For the teams at the bottom of the table, you have to be able to have continuity," he said.
"I know nothing has been sorted. The counters are back down to zero. Each team has their own hand to play in the relegation battle.
"It is going to go down to the final day."
Toulouse are fighting a different kind of battle at the other end of the Ligue 1 standings.
Their goalless draw at home to Lille on Wednesday kept them fifth and they occupy the second and final Europa League berth, but both LOSC and Rennes are only two points behind them.
Toulouse coach Alain Casanova wants his men to take advantage of St Etienne's porous defence tomorrow at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.
"I have seen their last few matches - St Etienne are a very impressive team at home with a lot of quality up front," he said.
"Defensively, they have shown some gaps and a bit of a weakness. We are going to try to make the most of that."
St Etienne's injury problems show no sign of ending - Blaise Matuidi (thigh) has been ruled out for the rest of the season while Araujo Ilan (foot), Yoann Andreu (adductors) and Sebastien Grax (knee) are doubts.
Geoffrey Dernis (thigh) and Cedric Varrault (knee) are absent too.
Toulouse welcome back captain and centre-back Mauro Cetto from a ban but Etienne Didot (leg) and Jeremy Mathieu (back) are doubts.
