NAC Breda vs Feyenoord Preview
NAC Breda coach Robert Maaskant has called for his players to stand up and be counted as they face a Europa League play-off with Feyenoord.
The Breda club finished their regular season with back-to-back defeats, but they still clung on for an eighth-placed finish in the Eredivisie.
NAC will entertain Feyenoord in the first match of their best-of-three series for the right to face either FC Utrecht or Groningen in the play-off final.
And Maaskant has demanded an improvement from his side.
"I want to see a real team stand up against Feyenoord," he said.
"We want to end the season in style.
"The last home match against De Graafschap was totally different to our other games this season. But we understand that last impression is the one which stays in people's heads and that's a pity.
"Against Feyenoord we can avenge ourselves and we want to show the fans something good. That is our way of approaching the games against Feyenoord."
Kurt Elshot, Edwin de Graaf, Csaba Feher and Michiel Kramer are all injured for the hosts, while there are doubts over the fitness of Fouad Idabdelhay.
Feyenoord also finished the regular season with defeat to Roda JC but still placed one better than NAC by virtue of a better goal difference.
The Rotterdam side will welcome back long-term injury absentees Jon Dahl Tomasson and Karim El Ahmadi to the starting line-up tomorrow with Luigi Bruins and Leroy Fer making way for the pair.
El Ahmadi came on as a substitute against Roda last weekend, and coach Leon Vlemmings is confident the Moroccan midfielder will be ready for the challenge in Breda tomorrow.
"It was a choice between two good options," said the coach.
"Leroy has done a good job, but I expect Karim will be able to show his footballing qualities against NAC Breda."
Dwight Tiendalli is suspended with Kelvin Leerdam taking over in defence.
