Lille vs Nice Preview

Lille will look to get their bid for a finish in Ligue 1's European positions back on track when they take on mid-table Nice.

LOSC have picked up just two points from their last five matches but still remain in contention for fifth spot and the second qualifying berth for next season's Europa League.

With Nice just as out of form and with nothing but pride to play for between now and the end of the season, sixth-placed Les Dogues have a great chance to bounce back in the race for Europe.

"In a season, every team goes through troughs, a dip in form, and we have had ours," said Lille goalkeeper Ludovic Butelle.

"We know that we have to get back to our best and the squad showed its character in holding a rival for Europe to a draw (Toulouse 0-0 on Wednesday).

"We now have to build on that. We know we have our destiny in our own hands. We are capable of stringing wins together - we have showed that throughout the course of the season."

Nice lost 2-0 to league leaders Marseille on Wednesday, their sixth defeat in their last 11 matches seeing them slip to ninth place in the table.

"There are three matches left and we have to make sure we don't fall further down the standings," said Nice midfielder David Hellebuyck.

The southerners are again without central midfielder Emerse Fae (calf) and full-back Cyril Rool (Achilles).

Lille have no new injury problems, but Stephane Dumont (adductors), Tulio De Melo and Emil Lyng (both knee) are again out.
