Peru call up Marcelo Fleitas
Defender Marcelo Fleitas has been handed his first call-up to the Ecuador squad for the WC qualifiers against Peru and Argentina.
Coach Sixto Vizuete selected the Uruguayan-born back due to the absence of suspended duo Geovanny Espinoza and Ivan Hurtado for the trip to Peru on June 7.
Emelec striker Joao Rojas also received his first official call after taking part in the unofficial 3-1 defeat to El Salvador in mid-week.
Ecuador, who host Argentina three days after taking on Peru, lie seventh in the South American Qualifying Zone on 14 points after 12 rounds.
