Deschamps reveals Tiago interest

Didier Deschamps could raid Juventus for Tiago while Fabrice Abriel is another midfielder to have been linked with Marseille.

Deschamps is keen on bolstering his central midfield ahead of his first season in charge of OM and revealed signing Tiago, 28, from former employers Juve could be an option.

"An eventual transaction would cost a substantial amount of money but it is the market price when you are dealing with an international-class player," Deschamps told La Provence.

"Having said that, in financial terms, it isn't in the David Trezeguet category."

Abriel has been a consistent and classy performer for Lorient this season, and put in a superb display in Les Merlus' 3-2 win at the Stade Velodrome before Christmas, scoring one and setting up another.

He has not held discussions with Deschamps but his agent is believed to be in regular contact with OM sporting director Jose Anigo.

Abriel said: "In my head, I have already left Lorient.

"My aim is to win the title. I want to play at a club that has the means to bring down the new champions of France (Bordeaux).

"If OM want to welcome me, I wouldn't say no. It's a challenge that would clearly interest me."

Deschamps also told La Provence there is room in his squad for striker Djibril Cisse, who is back at Marseille after a spell on loan at English side Sunderland.
