Brazil vs Paraguay Preview

Brazil coach Dunga expects the match against Paraguay to be the most difficult of the World Cup qualifying campaign.

The pair have collected 24 points apiece from their first 13 games to lead the way in the South American qualifying zone.

Last weekend, the Selecao hammered Uruguay 4-0 in Montevideo while Paraguay lost 2-0 to Chile in Asuncion.

But Dunga insists those results have no bearing on tomorrow's match and knows the five-time world champions will have their work cut out in Recife.

He said: "I think it will be the most difficult game of the current qualification.

"Paraguay lost to Chile at home and we won away. It means nothing. It will be a formidable game, no question about that. The Paraguayans are sure to be very focused.

"We have to repeat the desire we showed on Saturday and be patient to win the game."

Brazil's preparations were disrupted last night by the announcement playmaker Kaka is leaving AC Milan to join Real Madrid.

After the Paraguay match, Dunga's squad will fly to South Africa for the Confederations Cup.

Paraguay, meanwhile, are aiming to beat Brazil to end a three-game winless streak.

Guaranies boss Gerardo Martino is desperate for his side to get back on track and secure a place in South Africa as soon as possible.

"For us, to qualify is the main goal, no matter the position in the table," he said.

"We must think about the reality and not about the pride the fans would feel at ending the qualification campaign on top. The only thing that matters is going to the World Cup.

"The best strategy we can use is playing better than in the Chile match. When you don't play better than your rivals, you usually lose. I hope on Wednesday we can make the run of bad results stop and take something back from Brazil."

Midfielder Edgar Benitez is hopeful Paraguay can bounce back from their weekend setback tomorrow.

He said: "The defeat to Chile was painful. Now we must focus on Wednesday. The group is as one in both good and ugly moments. We know we are playing a tough match, but we can make history in Brazil."
