Capello happy with England performace

Fabio Capello has declared that was happy with his England side’s performance against Andorra.

England put on an impressive attacking display, thrashing Andorra 6-0 and making it seven wins from seven games for the Three Lions in their World Cup qualifiers.

The victory has put Fabio Capello's men one win away from securing their place in next summer's World Cup in South Africa, and the England manager has urged his players to make one final push to get the required result.

England will guarantee World Cup football if the beat Croatia at Wembley when the two sides meet in September, and the win has given the England players and manager plenty of confidence that they can get the required result.

"Yes, I like the performance," he said.

"I am very happy for the fans here and the people who stayed. Some arrived with some problems, but it is important we played well for them. I am pleased we played well for these people."

Capello has transformed England into a solid and consistent unit, and should take much of the credit for their brilliant 100 per cent record in World Cup qualifying so far.

England's attacking football proved too much for Andorra as early as the third minute, with Wayne Rooney netting England's first. Rooney would add another, with Jermain Defoe also adding two, while Frank Lampard and Peter Crouch added one each.

Despite the transport strike underway in London, 59,000 managed to get to Wembley to watch the match, and see England tear apart their opposition.

"We scored early and had a lot of chances, so I am happy," added Capello.

"You have to win another game to be sure of the World Cup, but we have a spirited group with a will to win."
