Heerenveen dup clash over transfers
Heerenveen coach Trond Sollied and club director Yme Kuiper have clashed over the need to recruit further players this summer.
Sollied is adamant the club needs to sign a third-choice goalkeeper and a replacement for midfielder Danijel Pranjic.
According to the Norwegian coach, Heerenveen are vulnerable with only Kenny Steppe and Brian Vandenbussche as established stoppers.
"Look at last season and realise how important (last season's reserve keeper) Hans Vonk was for us," Sollied told Het Friesch Dagblad.
"Internally we constantly discuss players. My standpoint is clear - we need to sign a third keeper.
"So that will be done because I really demand it. Not for myself but for Heerenveen."
However, Kuiper retorted: "We have the fullest confidence in the men that we have now.
"Besides that there is no room for a third keeper financially."
Sollied also wants a new midfielder to be brought in to replace Pranjic, who has left for Bayern Munich.
"We had, last season, a lot of numbers in the squad, but if we want to set a step up next season than we need to sign more quality," Sollied said.
"This squad needs an injection of players with quality, so that others can become better because of those quality players."
