Jol rubbishes Berg interest
Ajax manager Martin Jol has dismissed reports linking the club to Groningen striker Marcus Berg as "nonsense".
The forward has impressed for Sweden Under-21s recently at the European Championships in his homeland, fuelling long-standing rumours that the Amsterdam giants will approach their Eredivisie rivals for his signature.
Berg scored 17 goals in 331 games last season but Jol told AT5: "I really have no idea where all the stories are coming from. All reports about a transfer of Berg to Ajax are nonsense."
Berg, meanwhile, says he would prefer to go to England or Spain.
"I love the Primera Division and the competition in England is also of a high class. You never know when you get a transfer to another club, but playing in one of those two competitions is a real dream for me."
