Scolari not rocking Bunyodkor boat
Luiz Felipe Scolari will not ring the changes at Bunyodkor despite the prospect of an AFC Champions League quarter-final.
The former Brazil national team and Chelsea coach officially took over at Bunyodkor on Wednesday, and will be looking to make the last four of Asia's premier club competition when his charges clash with Korea Republic giants Pohang Steelers on a home and away basis in late September.
As well as Champions league action, Scoalri is also overseeing Bunyodkor's domestic title bid, a campaign that currently sees the side sitting at the top of the Uzbekistan league standings.
Despite challenging on two fronts, Scolari is adamant that he is no hurry to change things.
"I have Bunyodkor in the middle of the season and there is no reason to bring in new players," Scoalri told the Asian Football Confederation's official website.
"I will find out about the present players' skills before making any decision after the season is over."
Scolari also took time out to hand some advice to Asian teams wanting to compete on a wider stage.
"Asian clubs need to play more matches against strong rivals which will help Asian football improve faster," added the 2002 World Cup winner.
"I will use all my experience and knowledge to train new players and improve Bunyodkor."Though, it's not possible to do it all in just one day, we will achieve it step by step."
Scoalri has named Uzbekistan national coach Mirdjalal Kasimov and Brazilian Flavio da Cunha Teixeira as his assistants.
