Gignac keen on Lyon

Toulouse striker Andre-Pierre Gignac wants to sign for fellow Ligue 1 side Lyon.

The France international, who was the leading scorer in the top flight last season, has been labelled 'not for sale' by Les Violets president Olivier Sadran.

But Gignac, speaking for the first time this summer about his future, revealed he would like to move to Les Gones, who have already had a bid for the frontman turned down.

"I envisage going to Lyon - for me, they are the biggest club in France, there each year on the European scene," he said.

"Lyon are interested in me. At 23, I have to consider this offer. Some time ago, I said it was only Lyon who could make me reflect on my future.

"By chance, this offer has come and I can't stay insensitive to it.

"I think I will progress by going to Lyon. I was not expecting a big club to come in for me now. Lyon are interested in me - they say a train never passes twice."

Gignac, who netted 24 times in Ligue 1 last term, added in L'Equipe: "I would like the three parties to come together and discuss things calmly, that the president (Sadran) understands my point of view."

Sadran is not ready to entertain any offer for his star striker, who has seen two other big names - goalkeeper Cedric Carrasso and defender Jeremy Mathieu - leave Les Violets this summer.

"From the moment the player extended his contract (at the start of this year, to 2012), there is no negotiation possible. It's a non-subject," said Sadran.
