Canada, Costa Rica go through
Canada booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Gold Cup with a 2-2 draw with Costa Rica.
The point secured top spot in Group A for the Canadians, who won their opening two games against Jamaica and El Salvador.
A point was also proved enough to send Costa Rica through as Jamaica edged El Salvador 1-0 in the second game of this doubleheader in Miami.
Costa Rica took the lead in the 22nd minute when Andy Herron cut inside from the right wing to fire home, but Canada quickly turned the game on its head as Patrice Bernier equalised almost immediately before Marcel de Jong's long-range effort put them ahead.
However, Walter Centeno's free-kick earned Costa Rica a point.
Jamaica beat El Salvador thanks to Omar Cummings' 69th minute goal.
