Rami: Let me leave Lille

Rami: Let me leave Lille

Adil Rami has pleaded with Lille to give him the green light to sign for Marseille.

The no-nonsense centre-back is one of OM's chief targets as new coach Didier Deschamps looks to round off his spending for the summer.

The two clubs are in talks over the transfer but they cannot come to an agreement over the fee.

Rami is intent on leaving the northerners and hopes a deal can be tied up as soon as possible.

"I've warned my president (Michel Seydoux) and my coach (Rudi Garcia) about my desire to leave the club," Rami told La Provence.

"I want to leave because the time has come to grow and experience something else.

"Since I came to Lille, each winter transfer window or pre-season, people talk about me going to Bordeaux or OM. I really hope it works out this time."

He added: "I don't know where the negotiations are up to but I have total confidence in my president that he understands my situation.

"I want him to think of the interests of the club he runs, but he must equally think of mine."

Lille are believed to want up to 15 million euros for Rami, who is yet to play for France's senior side despite a number of call-ups to their squad, but OM have not matched that figure.
