Alou Diarra has signed a two-year extension to his contract at Bordeaux, tying him to the club until the summer of 2013.

The France midfielder, who turned 28 yesterday, has been linked with a move away from the Ligue 1 champions this summer.

But Les Girondins have persuaded their captain to commit his future to the club, who he joined from Lyon in 2007.
