Loic Remy to stay Nice
Lyon target Loic Remy has confirmed he will not be leaving Nice this season.
The two clubs have been locked in talks over the past few weeks over the transfer of the forward, who joined Nice from Les Gones for 8million euros last summer.
But a fee has not been agreed and the southerners announced yesterday they had officially ended talks with Lyon.
Remy revealed today he had been tempted by a return to his formative club but will be staying put at the Stade du Ray.
"For me, the saga is over. I am a Nice player and I remain that," he told newspaper Nice-Matin.
"Of course returning home to Lyon was tempting but I accept Nice's wish.
"Before training (yesterday), I spoke about it with (Nice coach) Didier Olle-Nicolle. He is counting on me.
"I never wanted to get into a fight with this club, who have offered me the chance to perform on the pitch.
"I owe them at least a year more. I am going to respect my promise."
Nice were believed to have put a price tag of 16m euros on Remy, their top scorer last season.
