Shanghai move for Oper

Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua have signed Estonian international Andres Oper on a six-month deal.

Oper, who scored 35 goals in 112 appearances for Estonia, joins from Dutch club Roda JC after he terminated his contract with the Eredivisie outfit last month.

"I have been collecting information about Shanghai Shenhua and the China Super League from the Internet," Oper told the club's official website.

"One of my friends also told me that the league is much harder than expectations.

"I am ready for the challenges as Shanghai Shenhua is one of the best clubs of China and we hope to achieve success this season."

The 31-year-old forward also had spells at Danish club Aalborg BK and Russian Premier League side FC Torpedo Moscow before joining Roda JC in 2005.

Shanghai Shenhua currently lie sixth in the CSL standings with 22 points from 15 games.
