Middlesbrough have confirmed that they have accepted a bid from an unnamed club for Mido.

Boro boss Gareth Southgate revealed earlier this week that he expected the unsettled striker to leave the club before the start of the new season.

Now a mystery club have had an undisclosed bid accepted by the Championship outfit for the former Tottenham forward.

Reports in Egypt suggest Mido's former club Zamalek are the mystery suitors as they look to bring the 26-year-old back to his homeland.

Mido is now expected to hold talks and undergo a medical at the club as he edges ever closer to a move away from the Riverside.

Stewart Downing has already left Boro in the wake of their relegation to the Championship and more stars are expected to follow before the close of the transfer window.
