Labbadia not underestimating Guingamp
Bruno Labbadia believes Guingamp will provide Hamburg with a stern test as they bid to reach the group stage of the Europa League.
Hamburg coach Bruno Labbadia believes Guingamp will provide his team with a stern test as they bid to reach the group stage of the UEFA Europa League.
The northern Germany side were drawn against the French Cup winners after easing past Randers in the last qualifying round, but Labbadia knows it will not be easy.
"Of course we really want to get into the group stage and to do that we have to cross this hurdle, which is Guingamp," he said.
"But we have been warned because last year they won the French Cup."
The first leg will take place in France on August 20 with the return at the HSV-Arena, the venue of the final in May, on August 27.
In between, Hamburg travel to Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga with a trip to Cologne following three days after the second leg in what promises to be a testing schedule for Labbadia's men.
Villarreal have been pitted against NAC Breda and will play the first leg in Holland.
Coach Ernesto Valverde is fully aware his side will be considered favourites but has urged his players to be fully focused if they want to progress.
"We have to keep an eye out against NAC Breda and we have to be careful," he said. "We are talking about a team from the Dutch league, which is competitive and where they play good football.
"We know that we are favourites but the truth is that in these type of knock-out matches that doesn't matter.
"They are a team who have already started their league, they have had a game, played two matches in Europe.
"What worries me the most is that my team is competitive in both games.
"We have to try to have two good games, as much in the away leg as at home, as if we have a bad day we could be out on the street and we can't let that happen."

Valencia coach Unai Emery is as wary of the favourites tag after they were drawn against Norwegian team Stabaek IF.
He said: "They are the league champions and they have already eliminated FC Copenhagen in the previous round.
"It is a tie that for us is important and we will put all our attention on it.
"Obviously, they're in the middle of their season and they will have this small advantage of competitive experience but we will prepare for it with that knowledge and you can't relax at all in a knockout tie.
"We want to arrive as fully fit as we can be."

Roma, who have been more used to Champions League football in recent years, will meet Kosice.
Although coach Luciano Spalletti admits he does not know much about the Slovakians, he insists his team are determined to go as far as they can in the competition.
"It's a draw that can throw up unknown quantities because they have already started their season and because we know little about them," he told www.asroma.it.
"It will be a delicate double challenge, also because the return leg will be in the middle of two tricky league matches.
"We hold this competition dear and we are certain of being able to do well."
