Del Bosque delighted with rout
Spain coach Vicente Del Bosque was delighted with his team's clinical performance after their demolition job against Belgium.
Del Bosque's charges continued their recent good form by thrashing Belgium 5-0 to move ever closer to an automatic qualifying spot for next year's World Cup in South Africa.
However, with group rivals Bosnia winning in Armenia, Spain will have to wait a little longer before packing their bags - a fact not lost on Del Bosque.
Speaking to AS after the match he said "It is unfortunate that we are not yet qualified.
"We may have to wait till the match in Armenia to do so."
Del Bosque then paid tribute to striker David Villa who claimed a brace in the comfortable win, saying "We must congratulate him. It is great that he has recovered his best form. He was not happy during the Confederations Cup.
"Now he is connecting with Xavi and the rest."
Analysing the match in further details he commented "The loss to the United States in the Confederations Cup helped us improve, because we saw our weaknesses.
"We played better in the first half, even though most of the goals came in the second. Senna did not play because we did not want to rush him, and he would have had to fight against Fellaini, who is twice his size.
"Besides, Busquets had an excellent game."
Finally, Del Bosque expressed his desire to return to La Riazor in the future, saying, "I hope we enjoy this stadium again.
"The fans were magnificent, sensational, extraordinary.
"That is why we responded as we did."
