Morimoto returns for Japanese
Catania forward Takayuki Morimoto has been named in the Japan squad for their upcoming three matches.
Japan play Hong Kong in an 2011 Asian Cup qualifier next Thursday in Shizuoka before then playing friendlies against Scotland in Yokohama on October 10 and Togo in Miyagi four days later.
Morimoto was forced to miss Japan's tour of Holland last month due to injury but the 21-year-old is now fully fit and currently in a rich vein of form with three goals so far this season in the Italian Serie A.
Espanyol's Shunsuke Nakamura, Makoto Hasebe of Wolfsburg, Junichi Inamoto of Stade Rennes and Keisuke Honda of VVV Venlo are also in the squad while there is a place for Daisuke Matsui of Grenoble after he recovered from injury.
Japan coach Takeshi Okada has a fine array of attacking options at his disposal with the J.League's top three scorers Ryoichi Maeda of Jubilo Iwata, Naohiro Ishikawa of FC Tokyo and Shinji Okazaki of Shimizu S-Pulse in the squad.
"We are at the stage where we are looking to bring some depth to our squad and scouting players who have got the required characteristics," said Okada.
Apart from those players from Kashima Antlers and Kawasaki Frontale, who have a league match on Wednesday night, the Japan squad will start their preparation for their games from next Tuesday.
