Young Lions recorded their sixth win of the S-League season with a 2-0 triumph over bottom club Balestier Khalsa.

After a goaless first half at Jalan Besar Stadium and only minutes after Young Lions had a goal ruled out, Chinese striker Yang Mu broke the deadlock for the home side before fellow substitute Khairul Nizam scored an audacious 25-yard lob to seal the win in second-half stoppage time.

Young Lions leapfrogged Sengkang Punggol into 10th place in the 12-team league, while Balestier remain three points adrift at the foot of the table with three matches remaining this season.
