Australia to go on offensive
Luke Wilkshire believes Australia must attack when they take on Oman in Wednesday's crucial Asian Cup qualifier at Etihad Stadium.
The Socceroos' goalless draw with Holland in Saturday night's friendly in Sydney was their 10th clean sheet in their last 13 matches.
Australia struggled to create chances against the Dutch but that should not be a problem against an Oman side that is ranked 60 places behind the home side at 74th in the world.
Wilkshire, a key component of an Australia defence which has emerged as the team's strength en route to the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa expects the team to adopt a much more attacking approach against Oman as Pim Verbeek's team seek to revive their ailing Asian Cup campaign after a draw and a defeat against Indonesia and Kuwait respectively in their previous pool matches.
The Dinamo Moscow player said: "It will be a totally different game for us on Wednesday night (compared to the Holland match) - it's a game we need to win and a game where we need to score.
"Defensively we look good but now we have got to create and score a few more and I'm sure we will do that on Wednesday.
"We are in a difficult position, the two results (earlier in Asian Cup qualifying) weren't the best so we need to win - we need the three points and nothing else will do."
