"Old Firm can play their part"
Hearts boss Csaba Laszlo believes Scottish football's problems are not insurmountable and that the Old Firm can play a part in solving them.
Talk of Celtic and Rangers joining the English leagues, or even an Atlantic competition, has hit the headlines again in the past week.
Laszlo has criticised the Glasgow giants for "running away" from the Scottish game and is adamant they are not simply looking to leave a sinking ship.
He said: "We must think about the league: look, there is not a lot of money there; we don't have at the moment a reserve league; in Europe, we haven't had very good performances - I'm also talking about my club; the national team at the moment is in third position in World Cup qualification and hasn't qualified.
"Now Rangers and Celtic would like to leave Scottish football.
"We have a lot of questions; now we must have a solution.
"And what is the solution? The solution is maybe to make Scottish football more attractive for the sponsors; maybe for the national team to be more successful; maybe to bring more and more players with names back to the Scottish league."
Despite having been in Scotland for less than 18 months, Hungarian Laszlo feels he has a duty to the country and would have no interest in Hearts quitting the SPL.
"At the moment, I would like to play in the Scottish league with my team," he said.
"To be better, to bring better performances, to bring more and more players out of the academy, to help the national team, this is my intention.
"You must ask Rangers, Celtic and Aberdeen why they'd like to go.
"If I work for Scottish football, I try to be the best, I try to be positive."
He added: "Celtic and Rangers bring this question, 'We would like to leave'.
"Why? What is the problem?
"You must say why you want to leave this league. There must be something behind this decision.
"If there is something wrong, we must sit together.
"We are all for Scottish football."
