Rennes vs Montpellier Preview
Rennes coach Frederic Antonetti does not want his players to take Montpellier lightly just because they are league newcomers.
Montpellier, Ligue 2 runners-up last season, have found their feet in French football's top flight and currently share top spot with Lyon.
And Antonetti insists his players should be aware of the progress made by Rene Girard's team, who have won six of their nine games.
He told his club's official website, www.staderennais.com: "They are very well organised and there is a good mix between the young and the experienced players.
"Rene Girard, I appreciate, is doing an excellent job and tomorrow it will be necessary to see this team as the league leader and not a promoted one."
Midfielder Kader Mangane has recovered from an adductor injury, while striker Asamoah Gyan is also fit again.
And there is more good news for Antonetti with midfielder Fabien Lemoine and defender Carlos Bocanegra both available again after suspension.
However, defender Petter Hansson remains sidelined with a calf problem and striker Jimmy Briand is also sidelined.
Montpellier boss Girard also anticipates a tough test against a side who have conceded just two goals in five home games.
Girard told his club's official website, www.mhscfoot.com: "We have to be wary of them, they are one of the most athletic teams in the league and have good individuals."
Defender Younes Belhanda is suspended while Girard is looking forward to calling on midfielder Philippe Delaye, who has been struggling with a thigh injury.
