Everton will make late fitness checks on four of their injured players ahead of Tuesday night's Carling Cup fourth-round tie at Tottenham.

But Dutch defender John Heitinga, who limped out of Sunday's defeat at Bolton with cramp, will be fit to play at White Hart Lane.

Everton were missing 11 senior players at the Reebok, and only Ayegbeni Yakubu (heel), Diniyar Bilyaletdinov (groin), Joseph Yobo (head) and Leighton Baines (calf) are likely to be in contention from that list.

Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe is suspended for the clash at White Hart Lane.

Aaron Lennon (ankle), Jonathan Woodgate (head), Ledley King (illness), Giovani dos Santos (ankle) and Luka Modric (fractured leg) also miss out.

Croatia midfielder Niko Kranjcar is cup-tied after playing for Portsmouth in the competition earlier this season.
