Umm Salal 1-2 Pohang Steelers
Pohang Steelers will meet Al Ittihad in the final of the ACL after goals from Stevica Ristic and No Byung-jun sealed a 4-1 aggregate victory over Umm Salal.
Leading 2-0 from last week's first-leg in Korea, Ristic broke the deadlock after 55 minutes before No settled the semi-final tie four minutes later. Ibrahima Nadiya claimed a stoppage-time consolation for the hosts.
Pohang came close to adding to their advantage after eight minutes when full-back Choi Hyo-jin's 25-yard rocket clipped the top of the bar with goalkeeper Baba Malik well beaten.
Pohang stopper Shin Hwa-yong then did well to palm away Mustafa Adam's low strike from the edge of the box at full stretch just before the half-hour mark after the ball broke to the midfielder when Fabio Cesar was crowded out in the box.
Kim Tae-su wasted a great opportunity for Pohang in the 36th minute when he failed to connect properly with Choi's dangerous cross despite being unmarked six yards out before Malik palmed away No's header at the back post just before the break.
Ristic struck the crucial blow for Pohang in the 55th minute when he was beautifully played in by Kim Jae-sung and the Macedonian striker fired powerfully across keeper Malik and into the far corner.
No doubled the advantage four minutes later when a miscued clearance on the halfway line fell to the forward and he surged down the left flank, cut inside defender Ben Askar and coolly sidefooted home.
Davi hit the outside of the post from a tight angle with quarter of an hour to after the Brazilian met Magno Alves' delightfully teasing cross before Umm Salal finally got on the scoresheet in injury time.
Fabio was fouled on the edge of the box and from the resulting free-kick, Ibrahima ran up and blasted the ball into the top corner past a diving Shin.
