Larsson: I'm no David Beckham
Retired Swedish star, Henrik Larsson, revealed that he was never interested in being part of the media limelight.
Larsson finally called time on an illustrious career last week when he played his final league match for Helsingborg.
One of the most prolific strikers from Sweden in the last decade, Larsson made his name at Scottish giants, Celtic before spending time with Barcelona and Manchester United.
Speaking to the Daily Record, Larsson said: "Seven years in Scotland prepared me for everything that went with it,
"I settled in well because my great friend Giovanni van Bronckhorst was playing there and he'd fixed up a house for my family to stay in.
"But for the first week I was in the city I stayed in the hotel the club used and I walked to training every day without anyone recognising me.
"I'm big in Sweden but I'm no David Beckham. The paparazzi have never bothered with me and that's the way I prefer it. I'm not a big city guy.
"I live among the people I grew up with in Helsingborg and I'm allowed to be me. Glasgow taught me to be more cautious than that."
