Friendly: Singapore 3-1 Indonesia

Raddy Avramovic's Singapore side cruised to a 3-1 win over visitors Indonesia at the Kallang National Stadium on Wednesday.

Both teams went on the offensive from the first minute but it was the Lions who caught Indonesia out cold with their efficient set-pieces.

All three of Singapore's goals came from set-pieces delivered by left-back Shaiful Esah who put in a man-of-the-match performance.

The Lions went ahead in the 10th minute when Esah floated in a stinging free-kick which SAFFC striker Aleksander Duric guided into the net with a brilliant header.

The lead lasted only two minutes when the Lions' defence went to sleep allowing Eka Ramdani to level the game for the visitors.

From then on, it was a lopsided game with Singapore launching attacks down the right flank with Ridhuan in inspiring form.

His menacing runs gave Isnan Ali and Muhammad IIham a torrid time and from a resulting free-kick in the 20th minute, Alam Shah darted into the box to finish off another wonderful delivery from Esah.

Despite boasting the likes of Bambang Pamungkas and Arif Suyono in attack, the visitors could only muster shots from outside the box and the half-time whistle blew with the Lions holding a deserved 2-1 lead.

The second half started with the rain lashing down on the Kallang pitch with Singapore continuing their dominance over the visitors.

Play was stopped in the 57th minute when Persija midfielder, Mustafiq went down writhing in pain and had to be taken off on a stretcher.

Despite having to continue the game without their midfield commander, Singapore continued their offensive game and it paid off in the 59th minute when a corner from Esah went past Markus Harison off the head of Duric for his second goal of the match.

Both teams went about making numerous substitutions but Indonesian coach, Benny Dollo, surprised the 6,017-strong crowd by taking off IIham and Bambang despite the deficit.

The last 20 minutes of the game became a scrappy affair with neither side seemingly keen on sustaining injuries on a very slippery pitch.
