Arsenal v Everton

Stanley 2-1 Salisbury City

Jimmy Ryan and Michael Symes were the heroes as Stanley claimed a 2-1 win against Blue Square Premier Salisbury City.

The League Two side dominated the first half with Salisbury keeper James Bittner pulling off a number of good saves before Stanley made the breakthrough in the 19th minute.

A well-worked corner routine came off when a John Miles corner was dummied by Phil Edwards and it came to Ryan on the edge of the area, who finished well for his first goal of the season.

Salisbury did not have a shot until the 27th minute and Stuart Anderson's long-range effort was easy for Ian Dunbavin.

And then the Reds got their two-goal cushion from another Miles corner after 33 minutes, which was headed home at the near post by

Symes.

It looked comfortable for Stanley until the non-league side upped their game after the break with wideman Chris Flood putting a couple of dangerous crosses into the box.

And they got back into it after 66 minutes when City's 13-goal top scorer Matt Tubbs raced on to a Flood pass, ran into the area and

slotted the ball into the bottom corner of the net.

City side pressed without reward, while Stanley's Bobby Grant was wasteful in front of goal in a match which had seven bookings.
