Bahrain lead after easy Yemen win
Bahrain are leading the way in the AFC Asian Cup 2011 Qualifying Group A after an easy 4-0 win over Yemen on Wednesday.
Group rivals Japan are second thanks to their comprehensive 4-0 drubbling of Hong Kong, but it is Bahrain, fresh from their World Cup play-off defeat to New Zealand at the weekend, who lead the way on goal difference.
Ismail Abdullatif opened the scoring in the 20th minute before Baba Fatadi added a second eight minutes later.
Hussain Salman then made it 3-0 just after the hour mark before Abdullatif wrapped up the emphatic win with his side's fourth with nine minutes remaining.
