PSV Eindhoven 4-0 Heracles Almelo
PSV Eindhoven returned the gap on leaders FC Twente to two points after an emphatic victory over Heracles Almelo.
Ibraham Afellay put the hosts ahead on the stroke of half-time before second-half goals from Balazs Dzsudsak, Ola Toivonen and Jagos Vukovic reflected the home side's domination which earned them 18 corners and ensured they remain four points ahead of third-placed Ajax.
PSV dominated from the outset and their cause was helped when Pieckenhagen was red carded for a professional foul on Toivonen after 28 minutes, with substitute goalkeeper Dennis Telgenkamp replacing Everton.
Although the hosts were completely dominant they could not find a way past a spirited Heracles until the final minute of the half when Afellay's strong left-footed shot went into the top left corner of the goal.
Toivonen almost doubled the lead in added time but his header from Dzsudsak's cross went over the bar.
Dzsudsak put PSV further ahead five minutes after the break when he hit a left-footed shot into the top right of the net before Toivonen added a third with just under half an hour to go with a fierce shot across the goalkeeper.
Vukovic rounded off the victory with just two minutes left when he picked up the ball on the left wing and unleashed a powerful 25-yard shot into the goal.
