Perth Glory Press Conference

Perth Glory in good shape

Perth Glory coach Dave Mitchell will have the luxury of a fully fit squad to choose from when his side entertain Central Coast Mariners.

Midfielder Wayne Srhoj is back in contention after sitting out Glory's last game through suspension while striker Mile Sterjovski and Victor Sikora are fully fit after recovering from their respective injuries.

"Everyone is fit and eager to be part of the game which is a positive position to be in," Mitchell said on the club's official website. "There are a few options which is good for the side."

Central Coast sit one place above Glory in fourth in the A-League and a win would see them close in on the top of the table.

Alex Wilkinson will make his 100th A-League appearance against Glory, becoming only the fourth player in history to achieve that feat.

"Regardless of the occasion it is a huge game for us," said Wilkinson. "After Perth won on the weekend they're only two points behind us, so if we can get a win over them it puts us right up in the mix."

Melbourne Victory will be keen to extend their lead at the top of the standings when they host a heavily depleted Gold Coast United side on Saturday.

Gold Coast coach Miron Bleiberg has just 12 first-team players to choose from with Kristian Rees, Bas Van Den Brink and Steve Pantelidis all out through suspension and several others out through injury.

"The heart of our defence will be missing so it will be tough for us," said Bleiberg.

"Even with limited resources we know we can go to Melbourne and compete; it's a great opportunity for some of our youngsters to prove that they are Hyundai A-League material."

Elsewhere, former Manchester United midfielder Terry Cooke is set to make his debut for North Queensland Fury against Adelaide United.

The 33-year-old has signed a replacement contract to cover for James Robinson and coach Ian Ferguson believes his experience will prove invaluable.

"There's been a bit of work to get it all together but it's nice to get him on board - he's a quality player," Ferguson said.

"The most important thing for us is that he brings in a lot of experience for the midfield."

Sydney FC entertain Newcastle Jets on Sunday boosted by the news that skipper Steve Corica is back in contention after recovering from a hamstring injury.

Sydney are second in the table and a win could see them go top if Victory fail to pick up three points against Gold Coast.

Finally, Wellington Phoenix could move into the top half of the table with a win at Brisbane Roar but have been dealt a big blow with the news that goalkeeper Mark Paston is out through injury.

The New Zealand international collided with skipper Andrew Durante during training yesterday and sustained a thigh injury, meaning Reece Crowther will be between the sticks.
