Lyon vs Rennes Preview
Rennes coach Frederic Antonetti is keen to take advantage of Lyon's recent frailties as his side visit the Stade Gerland.
Les Dogues' impressive Champions League form has been in contrast to a run of just one win in five games domestically.
And Wednesday's defeat to Fiorentina saw even that continental momentum stall, leaving them looking uncharacteristically vulnerable.
Antonetti said: "We have a competitive team and we will do all we can to get a good result at Lyon. We must be at our best.
"Lyon have remained at their level and the other teams have progressed. It's very good for French football. Before, the gap was too big between Lyon and the others. Today, it has been reduced. But they remain a very good team."
Lucien Aubey (hip) and Asamoah Gyan (ankle) are doubtful, while Senegal defender Kader Mangane has been sidelined for three weeks by an adductor muscle injury.
Lyon, for their part, welcome back a trio of key defenders.
Converted centre-half Mathieu Bodmer (adductor) and right-back Anthony Reveillere (calf) have both returned to training, while left-back Aly Cissokho is available following suspension.
But Maxime Gonalons (thigh), Bafetimbi Gomis, Jeremy Toulalan (both adductors) and Francois Clerc (knee) all remain sidelined.
"We need a big win to get our confidence back," winger Michel Bastos said.
"It would be perfect to do it on Sunday, in front of our own fans."
Midfield colleague Miralem Pjanic added: "We have to lift our heads up and keep going. We feel sad, because we tried everything (against Fiorentina) and it didn't work."
