French Ligue 1 Review

Auxerre are still top of Ligue 1 despite a second-half goal by Jeremy Clement securing a narrow victory for Paris St Germain.

Clement struck in the 67th minute when he headed home to earn a vital victory - just PSG's third at home this season.

It was the visitors' second away defeat this campaign but they remain top - although they can be overtaken by Bordeaux and Lyon, who play tomorrow.

Lens made it three wins in succession with a dramatic 93rd-minute winner against Marseille.

The home side looked to have blown their best chance when Yohan Demont saw his 62nd-minute penalty saved by Steve Mandanda.

But Eduardo dos Santos headed home deep in stoppage time to give Lens all three points and deliver a further blow to Marseille's title hopes.

Lille claimed local bragging rights in emphatic style with a 4-0 thrashing of Valenciennes.

Pierre-Alain Frau put the home side in front just before the interval and second-half goals from Gervinho (two) and Yohan Cabaye completed the rout.

An injury-time equaliser by Kevin Gameiro stole a point for Lorient and denied Grenoble a deserved victory tonight.

Lorient had led through a Bostjan Cesar own goal before Daisuke Matsui and Jimmy Juan turned the game on its head.

However, Gameiro was in the right place at the right time to hammer home a barely-deserved equaliser and rescue a point for the home side.

Sochaux pulled off a wholly undeserved 1-0 win over southerners Nice as a controversial goal decided a game in which the visitors dominated.

After being largely outclassed in the opening stages, Sochaux went in front in the 28th minute as Yassin Mikari's shot hit the bar, bounced down and then out with the referee awarding the goal.

Mohamed Fofana's first-half goal was enough for Toulouse to get back to winning ways with a 1-0 win at home to Boulogne.
