China out to sign off in style
China will look to round off their successful Asian Cup qualifying campaign against Vietnam in Hanoi.
Gao Hongbo's side secured their place at the finals in Doha next year with a goalless draw against Syria last month.
And with the point in Hangzhou also securing Syria's passage from Group D, all that rides on the match is the motivation for Vietnam to avenge the 6-1 defeat suffered at the hands of China at the start of the qualifying campaign.
China will be without Energie Cottbus' Shao Jiayi after the midfielder returned to Germany following the draw with Syria.
"It can't be a meaningless match for us," said Gao. "We must win the game and we must score more goals.
"We are by all means superior to Vietnam and we want to claim a victory."
Vietnam saw their slim hopes ended of qualifying ended with a 1-1 draw in Lebanon last month, but coach Henrique Calisto is confident of a positive result at My Dinh National Stadium.
"China have showed no signs of improvement in the past year," he said. "We believe it is a good opportunity to avenge the defeat at home this time."
