Sochaux vs Lille Preview
Lille go seeking their first win of the season against Ligue 1 rivals Sochaux at Stade Bonal on Sunday.
Rudi Garcia's troops are struggling to overcome the disappointment of their last day defeat at Lorient in May, which cost them a place in this season's Champions League.
The reverse means Lille have to qualify for the Europa League - although Thursday's goalless draw with FC Vaslui in Romania will give them hope of European involvement again this season.
However, Garcia's side are struggling to replicate their free-scoring exploits of last season in the league, managing just a single goal from an opening day draw at Rennes and a goaless home draw against Paris St Germain last Sunday.
The coach will be pleased his side have heeded his words to give less away defensively - but wants them to end their search for a first win of the campaign this weekend.
However, he could well be without Poland international midfielder Ludovic Obraniak, who was the victim of a late challenge in the first half of the match against Vaslui and is a major doubt for the trip because of an ankle injury.
Sochaux are not without their own injury problems, however.
Goalkeeper Teddy Richert is a long-term absentee and is struggling to figure before the end of the year because of a knee injury, while United States international midfielder Charlie Davies is still not ready for action after a car crash last year.
Vincent Nogueira has an ankle injury which kept him out of training earlier this week, although coach Francis Gillet hopes the 22-year-old midfielder will be fit enough to figure this weekend.
Sochaux started with a 2-1 home win over newly-promoted Arles before slipping to a 3-2 defeat at St Etienne last week.
