UAE League defending champions Al Wahda have signed Brazilian midfielder Hugo Assis from Gremio.

The 27-year-old has agreed a deal for the remainder of the season and joins compatriots Marcio Magrao and Fernando Baiano at the club.

Hugo, who started his career with Vitoria over a decade ago, has played for a number of clubs in his native Brazil but has also enjoyed spells in Mexico, Japan and Portugal.
