India through to SAFF final

Defending champions India reached the final of the SAFF Championship with a 2-1 win over Bhutan on Wednesday.

Kinley Dorji put Bhutan ahead in the 18th minute when he hit a low shot into the back of the net from a tight angle before Sunil Chetri equalised just after the half-hour mark, firing home from close range.

Neither side could find a winner before the 90 minutes were up meaning the game went into extra time, when Goumanghi Singh snatched a late winner.

India will play Maldives in the final after the tournament co-hosts defeated Sri Lanka 1-0.

Ibrahim Fazeel grabbed the only goal of the game when he fired home from inside the box with 20 minutes remaining.
