Injured duo out of qualifiers

Injured Argentina duo Esteban Cambiasso and Oscar Ustari will miss next week's World Cup qualifiers with Ecuador and Brazil.

Internazionale midfielder Cambiasso (right ankle) and Getafe goalkeeper Ustari (right knee) missed the warm-up matches with Mexico and the United States and were unable to recover.

Coach Alfio Basile's squad has now been reduced to 25 ahead of hosting Ecuador on Sunday in Buenos Aires and the trip to meet Brazil in Belo Horizonte three days later.

Argentina lie second in the World Cup South American Qualifying zone on nine points, one below leaders Paraguay.

"If we can collect the six points next week, we will be very close to top place - that is what we are looking for," said Boca Juniors midfielder Juan Roman Riquelme.

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid star Sergio Aguero and Porto striker Lisandro Lopez did not train on Wednesday, with stomach ache and flu, respectively, but they are expected to make quick recoveries.

Argentina squad:

Abbondanzieri (Getafe), Romero (AZ Alkmaar), Carrizo (River Plate); Coloccini (Deportivo La Coruna), Gonzalo Rodriguez (Villarreal), Heinze (Real Madrid), Zanetti, Burdisso (both Internazionale), Demichelis (Bayern Munich), Zabaleta (Espanyol); Sosa (Bayern Munich), Gago (Real Madrid), Mascherano (Liverpool), Maximiliano Rodriguez (Atletico Madrid), Banega (Valencia), Gutierrez (Real Mallorca), Riquelme, Battaglia (both Boca Juniors), Veron (Estudiantes); Aguero (Atletico Madrid), Lopez (Porto), Cruz (Internazionale), Cavenaghi (Bordeaux), Messi (Barcelona), Palacio (Boca Juniors).
