Quaresma confirms exit
Ricardo Quaresma, revealed at the weekend that he has already signed a contract with a big club but cannot say more.
"I have signed for a big club but I cannot say more than that," he has been quoted as saying.
English giants, Liverpool and Chelsea have been named as potential suitors in the past months but neither club were ready to fork out the cash for the temperamental midfielder, who was touted as Luis Figo's successor when he first broke onto the scene.
Inter Milan and Real Madrid, who have also expressed their interest in Quaresma, seem the more likely destinations with Inter emerging as frontrunners for the player's signature. In the past week, Jose Mourinho was appointed manager and the player is known to be a huge fan of his fellow compatriot's managerial skills.
His decision to leave Porto was as good as made for him when they were suspended from next season's Champions League for allegations of corruption and bribery in 2003/04.
Quaresma will be eager to prove doubters wrong and succeed at his new club after failing to impress at Spanish giants, Barcelona a few years back.
