Zheng going to Beijing
China national captain Zheng Zhi will pull the strings in the China midfield during next month's Beijing Olympics.
Despite recent back problems and a foot injury, the 28-year playmaker pledged to do his utmost to lead his country to glory at the Games.
"It is a great honour to play for the national teams," he said.
"As long as the nation needs me, I will do my best. Whether it's the senior team or Olympic team isn't a problem."
Zheng, who converted a penalty on Saturday when the Chinese side thrashed Malaysia 4-0 in a warm-up game in Jilin, will be joined by two other senior players, Shanghai Shenhua defender Li Weifeng and Shandong Luneng striker Han Peng.
"I hope I will find my best form before the Olympics," he added. "It is my dream to play in the Olympic final at the Bird's Nest (Stadium).
"The young players and the over-age players have gained a lot of experience in the international games, and we won't be nervous during big matches."
China's senior side were eliminated from the World Cup qualifiers in June, with an off-form Zheng criticised by fans for failing to live up to expectations.
"We have been working hard and never gave up," he said. "We need to gain good results through team work."
China will officially announce their 22-man Olympic squad next week.
"I believe the three - Zheng Zhi, Li Weifeng and Han Peng - are the best representatives of China football," Dujkovic said.
"They will help enhance the strength of the Olympic side in defence, midfield and offence," the Serbian added.
