Nurdiansyah leaves Arema

Bambang Nurdiansyah has resigned despite guiding Arema Malang to sixth place in the Indonesian Super League.

After leading Arema to victories over Persita Tangerang and Persijap Jepara in their first two games, Nurdiansyah left his post after losing to Pelita Jaya and drawing with struggling PSIS Semarang on Saturday.

Assistant manager Joko Susilo will take over as interim coach until further notice with Arema just three points behind leaders Persipura Jayapura.

PSMS Medan coach Iwan Setiawan was another managerial casualty on Monday when he was sacked following a run of poor results.

Setiawan was dismissed after PSMS drew with Persiwa Wamena and lost to Persipura Jayapura in their opening home games.

Assistant coach Rudi Saari will take over until a permanent replacement can be found.
