Kuyt: I'm staying a Red

Dirk Kuyt has revealed that his place in the Liverpool side is all but assured, but Reds boss Rafa Benitez, no less.

Kuyt found himself played out of his comfortable striker position many times in the last campaign, and the arrival of Robbie Keane has lowered his standing in the Liverpool hierarchy.

However, the Holland international is still upbeat about a role to play in the side, even if it means going out wide on the right of midfield.

"I'm really happy at Liverpool and I want to stay here for as long as the club want me," said Kuyt. "I am really settled here and I like the city. The most important thing is I like the club and I've really enjoyed the two seasons I've been here.

"The only thing I am missing is some trophies and hopefully that will come in the next year.

"I've never had any intentions of leaving this club.

"Sometimes things are said in the papers but the boss said to me it is not relevant and he wants me here with Liverpool."
