Tottenham Hotspur's bid for Manchester City's full-back Vedran Corluka is in jeopardy after Arsenal signaled their interest.

Corluka was reported to be on the verge of signing for Spurs but the deal seems to have stalled because of the Gunners.

Arsene Wenger is looking for some defensive cover, and sees the versatile Corluka as the answer to his defensive problems.

The Gunners will, though, come up against the same resistance shown by City boss Mark Hughes to the White Hart Lane club, with the recently installed Hughes determined to keep hold of the 22-year-old.

Corluka can play all along the back four, and has also shown to be comfortable in a midfield position.
