Terry: I'm stronger now
Chelsea skipper, John Terry insists that his horrific penalty miss in Moscow has long been wiped out and forgotten.
The England defender who's horrific penalty miss in the Champions League final against Manchester United cost Chelsea the cup feels that he has grown wiser and stronger as a result of that.
"Everything that happened made me mentally stronger. I had to be," Terry was quoted as saying in Sky Sports News.
"I think I proved that much when I came back into the England squad for the USA game two days after the final.
"I was sitting at the table with Manchester United players and I really didn't want to be there, if I was honest.
"I really had to go in there and bite my lip. I did that and then I put in a performance and got a goal. That took away some bad memories.
"I was never going to pull out of that game. Even if the manager had said stay away I would have begged him to come and play."
"After the disappointment, we want to kick on and go one better and this time get our hands on the trophy."
Terry will not have a chance to exact revenge when Chelsea take on United in a league game on Sunday after he received a red card for chopping down Manchester City striker, Jo at the weekend.
