Berba playing for the team
Dimitar Berbatov has claimed that he does not care if he fails to find the net, as long as Manchester United win.
After failing to score during United's controversial 2-0 defeat of Bolton Wanderers on Saturday, the Bulgaria international is still looking for his first goal since making a mega-money move from Tottenham Hotspur.
Although disappointed not to have opened his Red Devils account on his home debut, the 27-year-old insisted that he was focused on the bigger picture rather than personal glory.
"I really wanted to score a goal," the striker told MUTV.
"But the three points are the most important thing and we were the better team today. We scored two goals but missed four or five chances."
Despite drawing yet another blank, United's management will have been impressed by their star signing's contribution, with the dynamic forward linking well with first Carlos Tevez and then Wayne Rooney.
It was a performance that the former CSKA Sofia and Bayer Leverkusen favourite also took a great deal of satisfaction from.
"I'm happy with how I'm playing, particularly after today," Berbatov said.
"I think today was a big improvement from myself and from the team.
"I'm working really hard to help the team and so I can develop a better understanding with everyone. I'm sure that will happen."
