A flock of Canada geese have done what no player has attempted. To disrupt Sir Alex Ferguson's training session.

Manchester United's state-of-the-art Carrington training ground has been invaded by all sorts of animals in recent months.

Canada geese, toads and frogs have been making Carrington their home with the geese being a particularly huge problem.

The fowls keep dive-bombing Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates as they practice.

A club insider revealed: "The geese have been returning for the past couple of years and can dive better than Cristiano!"

The source added: "Carrington was chosen by Fergie for its privacy and security, but one of the drawbacks of being out in the sticks is the wildlife."

Facilities manager Clive Snell admitted: "There is a nature reserve within the boundaries and we've got two lagoons on site as part of our water treatment system.

"The reed beds attract the geese, who have been flying in and laying their eggs."

Sir Alex Ferguson will not be a happy man when the geese start flocking in this week as he saw his team lose to title rivals, Arsenal at the weekend.
