Big Sam makes first signing
Blackburn have swooped to sign teenage Macclesfield striker Nick Blackman for an undisclosed fee.
The 19-year-old spent a spell training with Rovers under Paul Ince - and the former Silkmen boss' successor Sam Allardyce has pushed through his signing by handing Blackman a contract until the summer of 2011.The Macclesfield academy product made his league debut for the club in April 2007 but started only once for them, on New Year's Day in 2008.
Town boss Keith Alexander told the club's official website: "Nick has a wonderful opportunity and given he wasn't guaranteed a first-team place at Moss Rose this season, it would have been wrong to stand in his way.
"It will be interesting to see how he develops at Ewood Park and we all, of course, wish him well."
