Sam Allardyce wants Wigan's Ryan Taylor to join him at Blackburn Rovers after failing to sign El-Hadji Diouf.

Big Sam who has been trying to take Diouf off the books of Sunderland seems to have conceded defeat to Sunderland's unwillingness to sell.

Diouf was a key member of Allardyce's Bolton side which qualified for Europe and the Rovers' boss wants the Senegalese to spearhead his team's attack. 

Taylor is apparently his new target with Espanyol's ex-Liverpool defender Steve Finnan and Marseille's Gael Givet the other options.
